PROPERTIES Many considerations
must be taken into account in the design of such a cart. The SWIFT II - Adaptive was designed with these considerations
in mind.
|
|
|
The player must be able to take the cart onto the green in order to putt from
a sitting position. The wide footprint of the SWIFT II - Adaptive when coupled with its light weight
will leave virtually no evidence that a cart was on the green. The green protection provided by the light weight and
wide foot print can be enhanced by tires with smooth tread patterns.

The SWIFT II - Adaptive provides each player with maximum flexibility for selecting
a hitting position. - The seat swivels to three stop points. These
points are at 900, 1800, and 2700 degrees from the original forward position. The swivel
feature permits the player to position the cart into their most favorable hitting position after taking into account terrain,
slope, direction for the shot and most importantly - SAFETY.
- Once the desired seat position
is selected, the player can then determine whether they need to extend the seat in order to get to their most comfortable
address position.
- Once the swivel and extension have been set, the player has the additional
option of raising the seat to become more upright via an electronic control.
- All of these things
are accomplished within the design of the cart which has placed maximum emphasis on player safety.

|
|
SWIFT II -Adaptive does not operate at the same speed as a two person cart.
Speed control offsets a wheel base that is narrower than that of a standard golf cart. But perhaps of more importance
is the player themself. A player using the SWIFT II - Adaptive usually has limited or restricted use of some limbs.
These limitations may preclude the player from applying safety responses or preventative measures that an able bodied player
would be able to exercise. The cart is designed to eliminate as many troublesome features as possible.

|
HANDLE BAR vs. STEERING WHEEL
|
The handle bar is utilized
because a steering wheel would serve as a restriction to player comfort as the seat swivels
|
|
HAND CONTROLS vs. FOOT CONTROLS
|
The player whose physical
requirements dictate the need for a cart such as SWIFT II – Adaptive typically cannot use foot controls.
Thus hand controls are imperative. In addition, a player using this cart probably is quite comfortable
with hand controls because this would be what they would use in their personal vehicles.
